I lost myself for about and hour or so today, in the edge of the woods. I say the edge, because I rarely get more than twenty feet in, as I am lost in the trees, branches, and most of all what's fallen on the ground. The first half of the walk was with the 28 - 135 mm lens, then I switched to the 50 mm. They are both awesome lenses and I feel so fortunate to have them. Many of these shots are straight from the camera and the ones that have been post-processed have some variation on the standard "amp treatment."
I have these in chronological order so you can go on my journey with me. :)

a great photo essay, I love the red leaf.
I like the top one the best--the middle focus is really nice.
Very cool! I like walking throught the woods with you. It looks like the Smirnof bottle had been used and abused :)
the woods shots with the tall trees and their shadows stirs the whitman-and-thoreau in me!
Well, that does it. I've a thousand things to do today, but the sunny outdoors are calling!
I love the shadow/sunlight interplay in so many of these shots!
